Septic Pumping and Certified Septic Inspections are Not the Same Thing

Septic system pumpers must be licensed to pump, but they are usually NOT licensed inspectors.  We are the only licensed inspectors / installers / pumpers in Clallam County.

certified inspector must be licensed by Clallam County Environmental Health as a Operation and Maintenance Provider.  (We are).  You must also be licensed and bonded.  (We are)

A certified inspection includes a complete and total system inspection, covering all components of your septic system, from the tank to the drain field and everything in between.

Upon completion, you will receive a report on the condition of your septic system and we will submit a copy of this report to Clallam County as well.

Test for Leaks with a Dye Test-A leak can cause water levels to rise an your alarm to sound

A toilet dye test is a simple, effective method to detect silent leaks. By placing a few food coloring drops or dye tablets into the the tank and waiting 15-30 minutes without flushing. You can confirm a faulty flapper if color appears in the bowl. If the water remains clear, no leak exists.

Steps to Perform a Dye Test
  1. Prepare: Remove the top tank lid to the back of your toilet
  2. Add Dye: Add 5–10 drops of food coloring (blue or red is best) into the tank.
  3. Wait:15 to 30 minutes without using or flushing the toilet
  4. Check: Look for colored water in the bowl. If color appears, the flapper is leaking and needs replacement.
  5. Flush: Flush the toilet after the test to prevent staining.
